Cabbage and quebracho colorado

Cut the cabbage in little pieces and put it in a pot with water. Heat to below boiling. Simmer for two hours. Let overnight to steep.

The day after I removed the cabbage and divide the dye bath in three pots: cabbage plus vinegar, cabbage alone and cabbage plus baking soda.

I added the silk and cotton to the water and bring to before boiling point. Let it simmer for half an hour.

Quebracho colorado is my favorite dye stuff so far.

Made a paste using warm water and added boiling water, stirring to dissolve. Fill the dye pot with water and add dissolved quebracho paste and add stir well. Add fabric to the cold dye pot and begin heating the water and bring to about 180 degrees F (80 degrees C). Hold at this temperature for half an hour.

Divide the liquid in three pots, to add modifiers: Calcium carbonate (CC) and vinegar.
